The Tribeca man suspected of slitting his mom’s throat in a fight over his deceased dad’s will was indicted Monday on second-degree murder and other charges, sources said.
Jared Eng, 22, was not produced for the brief hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court, where prosecutors announced the sealed indictment.
Cops say that Eng slashed Paula Chin’s throat at their Vestry Street home Jan. 30 then called his girlfriends, Jennifer Lopez, 18, and Caitlyn O’Rourke, 22, to help him get rid of the body.
He allegedly told one of them that his 65-year-old mom “took awhile to die.”
Lopez, who’s free on bail, briefly appeared in court and was indicted in connection to the cover-up.
O’Rourke’s case, which was not indicted, was sent to another courtroom.
Court papers say that Lopez and Eng allegedly shoved the 65-year-old’s corpse into a duffel bag, tossed it in the trunk of the victim’s Toyota Land Cruiser and drove it to her weekend home in Morristown, NJ.
O’Rourke joined the pair in NJ Feb. 1, where she helped stuff Chin’s body into a garbage can, which was left on the property.
Eng’s older brother, Brandon, reported their mom missing and cops found her decomposing remains in the trash bin the next day.
In a jailhouse interview last Friday, Eng insisted to The Post that he didn’t murder his mom over her fortune, which he said was as much as $11 million.
But he said the two had had a fight — supposedly over her declining health — in the hours before her slaying in January.
“There was a lot of money in there, like $10 million . . . maybe $11 million,” he told The Post.
Eng also described himself as “gender fluid” and polyamorous and was allegedly dating both his co-defendants.
Eng is due back in court Feb. 27 while Lopez is scheduled to return on March 14.
